For a long time, a lot of professors from Harvard Business School, Stanford University GSB and University of Pennsylvania Wharton, etc, management analysts and senior managers have been appealing for a worldwide management association so that management teach and study could become much easier and different opinions’ sharing could become possible. Against this background, Global Management Analysts Association (GMAA) was found in Delaware, U.S. with the destiny “Popularize Advanced Management Knowledge; Impulse the Development of Management Theory; Enhance the Management Competence of All Organizations”. With the process of economy globalization, the competition is getting much fiercer than before, which definitely challenges all enterprises. A serious study called “Management Analysts Standard Hierarchy Model” was conducted by GMAA with the corporation of many business schools, management consulting firms, and top management of some famous companies including Shell, 3M, Coca Cola, IBM, Deutsche Bank etc. This study standardizes the management ability as four levels: Primary Manager; Intermediate Manager; Professional Manager and Management Expert. Under the guidance of “Management Analysts Standard Hierarchy Model, the Certification of International Management Analyst program was introduced by GMAA. All candidates can get GMAA Membership after the accomplishment of this certification program. Management activity appeared with the birth of human beings, while the history of management, as a systematic theory, is relatively short. Since Taylor, who proposed The Principle of Scientific Management, there were many experts made remarkable contributions to management theory, such as Henry Fayol, Max Weber, George Elton Mayo, Abraham Maslow, Fredrick Herzberg, Douglas M• Mc Gregor, Fremont E. Kast, Fred Luthans, Michael E.Porter, Peter M.Senge etc. All these geniuses’ work made management become a systematic theory. Unfortunately, even today, Management, as a science, is always oppugned. In some occasion, Management is considered of no value to modern companies. From the perspective of GMAA, management is the integration of knowledge and experience. As a science, Management has its own serious theoretical system. There should not be any doubt of the science of Management. On the other hand, experience is the other characteristic of management. Many famous entrepreneurs and managers do not get systematic management training, but no one could deny them as successful managers. In fact, as a social science, management ineluctably has the characteristics of science and experience. The management experts should have the systematic management knowledge and abundant management experience. With the separation of proprietary and management rights, management is widely recognized as a kind of technology. Investors are willing to pay managers much more than traditional skilled workers. On the same time, some professional management analysts provide high-quality management consulting service for enterprises. As business becomes more complex, firms are continually faced with new challenges. They increasingly rely on management analysts to help them remain competitive amidst these changes. Management Analyst, as a profession, is more and more accepted by society. From the Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2008-09 Edition of U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Management Analysts, often referred to as management consultants in private industry, analyze and propose ways to improve an organization’s structure, efficiency, or profits. The competition of present market makes management competence become the core successful factor of companies. GMAA will make all efforts to become a worldwide management club where people can study management theory and share their precious experience in real business world. It is firmly believed that the development of management theory and management competence of enterprises will be enhanced due to the contribution of GMAA. |
